No Rest For The Wicked. No Problem!

I spent the weekend working, to allow me to take a 3 week Spring break later in the month, so whilst I was watching paint dry, I completed the vehicles for the second of my 15mm 'hard' sci-fi forces.

This time it's the Unified Systems Military Command in their slate grey 'Adder' family of vehicles, supplied by Alternative Armies .

All of the models are standard castings, with the Medevac 'can' having it's weapon removed and the CHQ vehicle having a different radar array and side-mounted ground surveillance radar added from GZG.

The whip antennae are of course courtesy of a scrubbing brush.

Decals are a mix of manufacturers including Fighting Piranha Graphics, Hobby Meio and Alpha Hobby .

Again, this is a personal project, so lacks the due care and attention I'd use in my day job. This is all about me rediscovering the enjoyment I experienced in the early to mid 80s.

I am not a fan of the whole grim and dark or Elves in space thing. It's each to hi sown of course, but it's not for me. I'm not even a fan of the Aliens films.

I grew up on the artwork of Chris Foss, the TTA books and of course 2000AD, Starblazer and Star Lord, as well as the seminal work of Jim Burns and the cover of the Striker box art. Thus, my own personal tastes are very much towards hover and anti-grav vehicles, speeding across star port tarmac or across a veldt, lasers blasting and high velocity munitions filling the air.

My Painter has sent me the first test pics of the Imperial Federation Jump Infantry, a totally infantry force, made up from 128 models from the GZG UNSC 'Hardsuits' wuith the jump pack ugrades added.

These are the assault troops of the Imp-Fed and don't hide, thus they are in the red armour so beloved of Traveller players.

This force will be support weapon-heavy, offsetting the lack of vehicles. They are tasked with low orbit insertion and fast securing of the 'bridgehead' locatioins in any conflict, such as starports, tracking stations and suchlike. Hopefully, the force will be with me in a couple of weeks.

I realised that it's a year now, since someone began a series of events which pushed me to the verge of taking my own life. They failed, and it was thanks to the intervention of some old friends, alerting me to the fact that they had never seen me roll over like I did, that was able to get some help, and come back from the brink,

Thanks lboys and girls! You know who you are, and I'm always there for you, in return.
