2020 - A Gaming Year In Review

Well, as I head into Winter Quarters (I stop spending on anything other than Christmas between November 1st and December 31st) I've realised that I am having a very positive year with my gaming this year.

I know it seems early, but I've actually got all my gaming ducks in a row, quite smoothly.

28mm New Model Army - Commissioned and being delivered every month - over 700 pieces with October seeing the final delivery if all goes to plan.

28mm Irish Catholic Confederacy - Commissioned today from Redoubt to supply painted - Just over 300 pieces, to be delivered before the end of Autumn.

15mm 'Snapshot' project using GDW/FASA deck plans and Citadel 15mm figures from RAFM in Canada. - I'm painting them. Thanks to long time (tor) mentor Chris Gilbride, I have been able to do this with more plans than the two in the Snapshot box set.

28mm Back Of Beyond - Figures from Gripping Beast and Empress - I'm painting them.

25mm 70s sci-fi from Riviresco/McEwan Miniatures - Ordered and in casting queue - 300 or so figures. I am painting them.

All in all a very positive year, which will hopefully have come in under budget by around £400.

250 Wargames mags from the 80s after giving 100 to old friend Andy Needham.

How are the rest of you doing this year with your hobby?

It's a funny one with there being no shows since early March, but personally, I have found that to be a bit of a bonus if I am honest.

Looking ahead to 2021, I will be buying a few armies using the WoFun Boardgames perspex 'flats' for those periods where I want to play the game, but really don't have the will to paint or pay for painting. I am hoping they release the Peter Dennis Wars Of The Roses stuff.

Beyond that, I don't have many plans, but no doubt Roger and I will have some kind of brain storm and a new project will surface, to threaten our wallets and sanity...
